Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) is launching an innovative programme to encourage women graduates in Kerala to utilise their qualifications and talent to form single-person enterprises or Nano startups.

Called Kerala Women in Nano-Startups (K-WINS), the Nano Startups under the programme will support other existing startups and enterprises by undertaking freelance projects in various domains ranging from content creation, digital marketing, quality testing, art design, employee-engagement, hiring etc.

K-WINS aims to identify qualified women who are currently on a career break or not doing any full-time job, and enable them to take up flexible freelance assignments as per their convenience. The objective is to help such women engage in rewarding work experiences of the gig economy, according to Dr. Saji Gopinath, CEO, KSUM.

KSUM has already invited applications for the K-WINS pilot programme from women graduates in Kerala who are currently not engaged in full-time employment. The pilot programme will begin with an orientation session in Kochi on January 27. The session aims to familiarise participants with freelance opportunities and unearth their talents in technical writing.

Applicants shortlisted will undergo a K-WINS orientation programme and, on successful completion of the same, KSUM will endeavour to facilitate freelance assignments from various corporates, startups and tech enterprises.
