Kerala’s ambitious project to set up the country’s first state-of-the-art Space Systems Park has got a major fillip with the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) joining hands with the State Government to support the latter’s endeavours in promoting space technology vertical in the State. In the presence of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, an agreement in this regard was signed by M Sivasankar IAS, Secretary, Department of Electronics and IT and S Somanath, Director, VSSC. As the chief minister mentioned, the tie-up will help the State to make major strides in space technology sector. To be set up at Technocity, the Park is expected to attract global startups in the space sector and make the State a major manufacturing hub for space-related technology, research and development. It will have two sub verticals – Space Technology Application Development Ecosystem (STADE) and Nano Space Park to harness both upstream and downstream capabilities of space tech domain.
While on this, I am happy to present before you the success story of an IT company ‘Incredible Visibility’ at our Technopark Kollam campus. Saneesh S Sanal started the company, specialising in web design and animation, at a smart business cubicle with a single employee. Recently, a sprawling 6500-sq.ft. office of Incredible Visibility was inaugurated at Technopark Kollam. Today, the company employees 25 people and Saneesh says the staff strength would be touching 100 within a year or two. Such success stories are a great boost for other IT companies to consider setting up operations at Technopark Kollam.
Infinite Open Source Solutions (IOSS), based at Cyberpark Kozhikode in association with HEBSI Management Consultancy has developed a new mobile app for resource management, ‘Aashrayam’, to support the Kozhikode district administration in effectively streamlining the utilisation of relief materials coming from various sources. I congratulate Rafeeq Kamran, CEO, HEBSI; Abdul Gafoor, Director, IOSS and Harris, President, CAFIT for pioneering this noble initiative.
Join me in commending Axel Technologies, which recently set up a new office at the Sahya building at Cyberpark Kozhikode. I also wish all success to Webandcrafts, a web design and development company based at Infopark Koratty, which recently celebrated its seventh anniversary with much fanfare.
Once again torrential rains have wreaked havoc in the State, especially the northern districts. As always, members of the Tech-community have rose to the occasion to alleviate the misery, by supplying relief materials to thousands of people sheltered at various flood-relief centers in the affected regions. I appreciate the efforts of GTech and all socio-cultural forums at Technopark, Infopark and Cyberpark, in setting up collection-centres and mobilising materials in such a short span of time…. #nammalottakettu
