Kochi: Mindmaster Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (MMT) has come up with a revolutionary initiative in the unorganised taxi, auto sector. This initiative, based on a GPS enabled app called PIU, aims to unite the taxi, auto drivers of an unorganised sector in order to bring a happy experience for both drivers and riders.
PIU is a service platform which provides precise service opportunity to multiple industry sectors especially focusing in rural areas in addition to the city. PIU believes in People Planet Profit (PPP) and follows Fair Fare Policy (FFP), wherein all the stakeholders involved are benefited equally and helps to reduce the burden on the environment. PIU will be the fairest taxi aggregator in the country.
Benefit to taxi drivers
MNCs which currently run online taxi services are levying a hefty 26 per cent commission from each driver. That is, the driver has to pay Rs. 780 to the service provider if he gets Rs. 3000 a day on an average. This will round up to Rs. 2,34,000 a year. Besides, the driver has to spend for fuel expense, monthly EMI, maintenance expense and other miscellaneous expenses. In short, a driver’s take-home money is only 21 per cent of the total money he earns.
PIU bucks this trend by abolishing the exorbitant commission charge. A nominal amount of subscription fee is charged instead. This would round up to only Rs. 19,200 per annum. In comparison with the commission charged by MNC service providers, a driver will get Rs 2,14,800 more under PIU platform. That is, the driver will get 46% of his total earnings.
Benfit to taxi riders
PIU’s unique RPS (Ride Profit Share) model helps groups of loyal customers with the provision of ‘Earn while you Ride’. A customer who download the PIU app and refer the same to 5 of his friends by helping them to download the app and prompting them to take one ride with PIU will become Golden Customer (GC). Once he/she becomes the ‘Golden Customer, he/she will be eligible to get the RPS, provided the GC completes 4 rides himself every month.
Govt. fixed tariff
PIU is abide by the taxi, auto tariff rate fixed by the state government. There is no surcharge or any other hidden costs. PIU app will make travelling easy, secure, less expensive and more efficient.
Studies reveal that an auto rickshaw burns a litre of fuel daily on an average, hunting for customer in urban areas. This fuel wastage is more in rural areas. PIU do away with the wastage of burning lakhs of litres of fuel for no purpose thereby contributing much to a green planet. Less fuel burning meant reduction of carbon footprint thereby giving a fillip to the state’s exchequer.
PIU launching centres
The launch of the app has been already announced in Kozhikode. Besides Ernakulam, PIU will be operational in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam,Thrissur, Kannur, Kollam and Malappuram this month itself. The service will be expanded to other districts in the current fiscal as well. As many as 800 direct employment opportunities will be created within the first six months of operation.
As of now, most of the cabs and autos are in the unorganised sector. By enrolling under PIU, all financial transactions related to a taxi would be accounted thereby increasing the GST revenue of the state.
