Cyberpark Hosts CAFIT Annual Mega Job Fair to Boost Work Opportunities in Malabar

The IT city of North Kerala – Kozhikode saw a conglomeration of IT/ITES professionals, entrepreneurs, investors and startup enthusiasts from the Malabar region and across the State for Calicut Forum for IT (CAFIT)’s annual conference, Reboot 2018 on December 15. This was also an initiative to promote Kozhikode as one of the best IT destinations in India, marking a distinctive place on the IT map of Kerala and as an extension of the ‘Back to Home’ campaign organised by CAFIT.

“We will make all efforts to bring multi-national companies to Kozhikode,” said M K Raghavan MP, while inaugurating the third edition of Reboot at Sahya building in Technopark.

“Kozhikode will create job opportunities in new-gen technologies like Blockchain, IoT, AI and Robotics to bring back the lost IT glory of the City,” said Raveendran Kasthuri CEO, The Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society Ltd. (ULCCS).

On the second day of the event as many as 4000 people from different parts of Kerala participated in the mega job fair spread across 21 venues. Forty companies had set up their registration counters along with their product and service displays, from which the candidates were allowed to choose a maximum of five companies where they could attend interviews.

PTA Raheem, MLA assured all support from the government, especially to create an IT ecosystem in the campus to bring larger corporates to Cyberpark. Kozhikode Collector Seeram Sambasiva Rao IAS spoke on the importance of skill development. Eminent speakers from the industry shared their thoughts on the scope and latest trends of these technologies.

The collector also expressed his vision of setting up a core team representing senior CAFIT members to drive the core governance project across domains. CAFIT has ensured its support in helping the government.

“This year, we had expected around 3000 people to participate in this conference, but we saw a whopping entry of 4000 people and unlike last year where we focussed on freshers, there were experienced senior professionals,” said Abdul Gafoor, Secretary, CAFIT.

“Nearly 1000 jobs were offered at the job fair where there were around 700 jobs guaranteed across KINFRA IT Park, HiLITE Business Park, UL Cyber Park and Government Cyberpark,” he added.
