Welcome to the future! Downtown Trivandrum, an additional IT infrastructure facility having 57 lakh sq.ft. of built-up space at Technopark Phase III built utilising the single largest investment in Kerala, has been inaugurated. As Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said during the formal launch of the much-awaited project, Downtown Trivandrum perfectly fits into the State Government’s larger vision of laying its developmental thrust on knowledge-based industries. The Government’s plan to expand space in IT Parks across Kerala from 1.3 crore sq. ft. to 2.3 crore sq. ft. would facilitate the creation of 2.5 lakh direct jobs. The project consists of Embassy Taurus TechZone, an office complex having 33 lakh sq. ft. of collaborative workspace; Taurus Zentrum, a 12-lakh sq. ft. retail and entertainment centre; Asset Taurus Identity, 315 units of serviced residences and a 200-key Business Hotel. The first phase of the project would be completed by 2020. I take this opportunity to wish all success to Taurus India, Embassy Group and Asset Homes, who are undertaking this Rs. 1500-crore project.

I am happy to inform you that Fujitsu Consulting India is actively considering setting up of a facility at Technopark. The meetings by Shrikant Vaze, CEO and Manoj Nair, Senior Director, Fujitsu with Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister; Tom Jose IAS, Chief Secretary and M Sivasankar IAS, Secretary – IT & Electronics of the State, all ended on a positive note. The next round of discussions in this regard will commence once the company completes its survey of the existing IT ecosystem and support facilities on the campus.

In yet another major development, on September 24, the lease agreement was handed over to Tech Mahindra, which has commenced work to set up its facility at Ganga Tower at Technopark Phase III.

Let me congratulate Allianz Technology for completing 15 years at Technopark and celebrating the occasion in a fitting manner by adding electric vehicles to its employee cab fleet.

While on this, join me in welcoming Mozilor Technologies and Times World Media & Technologies which have opened offices at Cyberpark Kozhikode recently. Also, kudos to Overbrook Technology Services at Infopark Kochi for winning the Certificate of Excellence from the Kerala State Labour Department. Way to go!
