Thiruvananthapuram: Happy New Year to all of you. We enter 2018 on a strong footing, with plans and priorities in place to make rapid strides that can reinforce brand Kerala IT.

Technocity and Knowledge City, coming up as part of Technopark Phase IV, are ambitious projects aimed at taking us forward in our vision to establish Kerala’s pole position on the national IT landscape. Technocity, which the President of India launched in October 2017, is touted to be India’s largest futuristic IT Park spread across 400 acres. When complete, it will offer employment to one lakh IT professionals. Already companies like TCS, Suntec, IIITM-K and KASE have taken space to develop their campuses. Within Technocity, the State Government has earmarked 100 acres for Knowledge City envisioned as a Centre of Excellence for fostering research and development activities in future technologies like Blockchain (Fintech), Cyber Security, AI, Space Applications and e-Mobility. Knowledge City will help in leveraging frontier technologies to improve the life of the common man as envisaged in Kerala’s new IT Policy.

Infopark Kochi, which is witnessing a fast pace of development, has new projects which are ready to occupy like ‘Jyothirmaya’ at Kakkanad, ‘Indeevaram’ at Koratty, and ‘Chaitanya’ at Chertala. These projects provide a typical business model of Smart Business Centres and Warm Shell Space for SMEs and startups, with an edge on cost competitiveness and brand equity. The ‘Ashtamudi’ IT building at Technopark Kollam is also on an upward surge with more companies starting operations from there.

In this quarter, Cyberpark, Kozhikode is gearing up for a major transformation as the Government has initiated a strategic partnership with IAMAI (Internet and Mobile Association of India) for creating a first-of-its-kind Incubation Centre in Kerala which will offer world-class training facilities for developing advanced mobile applications and co-working space for mobile enthusiasts.

We are in the midst of brisk preparatory work for hosting the mother of all IT events in the country, #FUTURE, a global digital summit in March 2018 in Kochi. I would urge you to register (www.towardsfuture.in) for attending this event. Early Bird registrations end on February 28. Happy Reading!
